I build software, from backend systems to the tools and products I wish existed.

I didn't start out knowing I wanted to be a software engineer. After high school, I enrolled in college for Business Administration mostly because I knew I should go to college, not because I knew what I wanted to do. A few semesters later, while working at an Amazon fulfillment center, I came across an employee program designed to help warehouse employees transition into software development. I enrolled, left my business degree behind, and spent the next year learning backend development while working full time. Finishing the program didn't immediately turn into a career. I struggled to break into the industry and eventually decided to go back to school. Somewhere along the way, I started building again. My first real app was Beat Tiles, a mobile rhythm game built around an idea I had while making drum patterns in GarageBand. Designing it, writing the code, figuring out problems I had no idea how to solve, and eventually watching something that had only existed in my head run on a phone changed things for me. That was the point where software stopped feeling like a career I was trying to get into and became something I genuinely wanted to spend my life doing. I've been building ever since.
